In addition to weekly climbing trainings with the cool APD Kozjak instructors at a local bouldering gym Pekarna, Zala and Luka also have their personal climbing mentor Stric Andrej. We’ll catch you up on Grma Alpska Šola (Grma Alpine School) in another blog but for now, just know that we have been learning the world of ropes, gear and appropriate mountain safety techniques. It all got put to a test this past weekend in Soča valley where Andrej picked just the right difficulty multi-pitch route so that Zala and Luka could practice their skills on the rock. Lead climbing, belay station set-ups, proper voice commands, rappelling… and they loved it - rain and all!
